Sedimentation
Sedimentation, or clarification. is a process
to separate solids and liquids amidst water treatment. Primarily, by means of
natural gravity, it separates suspended solids or plume particles in water. The
suspended solids or floc cluster particles in water.
Where the post-coagulation raw water flows through the front end of the sedimentation tank, the impurities in larger particles will sink at the bottom of the tank. The specially designed inclined pipe in the tank will increase the chance of collision amidst the flocs. After the flocs slowly settle through the inclined pipe, the clear water at the upper layer will flow to the fast filter pool.
